Kangan Institute Docklands Campus Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE)
The $50 million Automotive Centre of Excellence Stage 2 building facility, designed by Gray Puksand, is an educational facility as part of the extension to Stage 1 Kangan Institute for Motor Mechanics. The building is located in the Batman Hill Precinct of Melbourne Docklands and firmly establishes a substantial campus environment. The project showcases the automotive industry through a world leading building that sets new benchmarks in state-of-the-art training spaces, automotive workshops and testing facilities. The ACE building was awarded a ‘5 Star’ Green Star rating, making it a building of national significance.
Eigen, working together with 2Construct Pty Ltd, undertook the external finishing works to Stage 2 of the Kangan Batman Institute of Tafe Automotive Centre of Excellence. This included the supply and installation of Chinese Bluestone Pavers for the feature paving, precast concrete & timber seating and in-situ concrete pavements. The high profile project was completed as scheduled in July 2011.
